New Moon in Taurus

The dark of a Taurus new moon is upon us.

The beautiful, dark, loamy soil of our Earth Mother holds the deep wisdom of Taurus. Sacred earth and sacred body are the foundation of this life.

Use the elemental wisdom of earth to come home to the here and now. Sink into the physical. Revel in body sensations; smells, tastes, textures, movements.

Call on the energies of this earthy new moon and the divine Earth Mother to hold you and help you.

Come down to ground.

Passionate Full Moon

Full moon in dark, mysterious, magical Scorpio. If you’re a bit confused, know that you’re not alone. We’re all in the thick of it. Wild, erratic energies are afoot and nothing is simple or straightforward.

Things are primal and strange. And all the passion can be quite seductive. But don’t let yourself get sucked in and do something crazy. Now is NOT the time to make big dramatic moves.

Breathe and ground into your physical body. Keep breathing and grounding. Wait for the energies to calm before you act.

Earthy Full Moon

Full moon in earthy Virgo, keeper of Earth’s cycles, rhythms and mysteries. Virgo is lover of green trees furry creatures, running streams, buzzing bees, soil and stone.

Now is the perfect time to embrace your inner Earth priestess or priest. Earthy rituals are particularly powerful when the moon is full in Virgo.

Offer love and honor to Mama Earth; create a mandala out of objects from Nature, sing a song of gratitude to Earth and Sky, offer up a joyful poem to your favorite tree, sit with the land and give it your loving attention, light a candle and express your appreciation for the air, food, water and shelter our Earth provides, sit in the light of the full moon tonight and express your wonder about the mystery of it all…

There are a thousand different ways to love and honor our sacred Earth. Choose one and do it now. Do it for the land where you live.

Intense Leo Full Moon

Photo by Pawan Sharma on Unsplash

The moon goes full in fiery Leo the lion today. Asteroid Chiron, the wounded healer, is also in a fire sign (Aries) heating things up. Meanwhile Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn are sitting with the Sun in airy Aquarius fanning the flames. Plus, a big solar wind is blasting Earth this week. To say that the energies may be a bit wild is an understatement. INTENSE is the word that comes to mind.

Like a hungry lion, this fired up energy is big and unpredictable and INTENSE.

The trick is to contain and channel all this fiery, passionate, INTENSE energy in the right direction. Try not to flail around in twelve different directions. You don’t have to do it all today.

Slow down. Get in touch with your physical body. Find ground. Then choose just one small action you can take that’s headed in the direction of your dreams. Do that.

New Moon in Scorpio

New moon in Scorpio, queen of watery depths, secrets, storms and magic. Jupiter and Pluto are playing together. Mars just went direct and Venus passed through a moon gate…

Whew. If you’re feeling wrung out and emotionally exhausted, you are not alone. What a wild and stormy time!

Create a calm, quiet space to nest and rest. Think soft blankets, warm comfort foods, happy movies, slow walks in nature, long hot baths. Nurture yourself. And if tears come, allow them to flow. Scorpio can be quite wet and watery.

Every new moon is a wonderful time to set intentions for the next cycle. After nesting and resting awhile, consider what you want to focus on or create in the next month.

Goddess Reclaimed

I realized that in spite of the very helpful healing work I had done in the past, that as a woman, the modern Western and even ancient spiritual techniques that served me before fell short of fully addressing my physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual nature as a woman. And how could they, for they were created by (and generally made for) men?

For example, while the Vedic and Buddhist meditation techniques I learned helped me observe my pain from a place of detachment, they guided me away from delving into my pain—to feel and own it. The Goddesses, however, showed me that as a woman, it was vital for me to fully feel my pain before I could heal it. Another revelation was when I realized that instead of just talking about my feelings to process them, that unleashing them through physical movement, sound, or sacred ceremony profoundly elevated my experience of release.

And so it wasn’t until I re-discovered the buried ancient mysteries and wisdom teachings of the Goddesses that I was able to truly heal and flourish on every level as a woman. At first, embracing the Goddesses of the underworld led me to uncover the deep-seated lack of self-love, self-worth, and self-value that was mirrored back to me in my outer patterns.”
