We are of Water

St. Vrain Waterflow
St. Vrain Waterflow

We are of water,
and water is of us.

When water is threatened,
all living things are threatened.

What we do to water,
we do to ourselves.

Water is sacred,
a human right.

Water is our unifier
because we are all made of water.

Do Not Try to Save the Whole World

Geranium Bloom
Geranium Bloom by Nancy L

Do not try to save the whole world
or do anything grandiose.

Instead, create a clearing in the dense forest of your life
and wait there patiently,
until the song that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.

Only then will you know how to give yourself
to this world
so worthy of rescue.

Being Lost

Violets

“There are ways in,  journeys to the center of life,
through time; through air, matter, dream and thought.

The ways are not always mapped or charted,
but sometimes being lost, if there is such a thing,
is the sweetest place to be…

And always, in this search, a person might find
that she is already there, at the center of the world.

It may be a broken world,
but it is glorious nonetheless.”

~Linda Hogan, The Woman Who Watches Over the World
