The World
The trees are like the hair of the world.
The city is like the heart of the world.
The wind is a flute player
playing in the night…

I Still Hear the Sound Coming Out of the Flowers
“The temple bell stops
but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.”
~Basho
🌸
Flowers whisper in the wood
all hope and possibility.
Flowers sing to me,
heart knows the melody.
Flowers smile at me
holy spirit lights each face.
Flowers bloom pure joy
asking, will I join in?
~Nancy L
More Tree Joy
“Wherever I stand, I hear the trees petition.” –William Stafford
Patterns
I think of how the rain
is washing life away.
How do I know what life
has in store for me?
It is strange that I cannot
figure out the pattern.
The trees are so perfect,
they know how to grow.
— Leticia Gray
This amazing poem is from Salting the Ocean; 100 Poems by Young Poets.

All the poets were schoolkids in grades 1-12 when they wrote their poems.
To Rebels and Misfits Who Change Everything
(Are you digging that 1960’s wallpaper print behind me? Groovy baby!)
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can
change the world, are the ones who do.”
–Apple, Inc.
Yes! I choose to be a member of the rebel misfit change army. 🙂
Whatever it takes to change the world into the kind of place I’d like to leave for my grandkids.

Tree Joy
The trees are whispering to me,
reminding me of my roots, and my reach
… shhhhhh…
can you hear them?
Selflessly sharing their subtle song
~Jeb Dickerson
