Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Full moon in earthy, sensual Taurus. A total lunar eclipse will be visible in North America in the early morning hours of Tuesday. AND the sun is sitting in Scorpio communing with Venus.

All of this makes for an intense few days. Expect to feel stirred up and emotional. Be gentle with yourself. Stay grounded – root deep.

Make time every day to do whatever calms you; reading a good novel, taking a bubble bath, going for a hike in nature, meditating, practicing yoga… whatever calms your mind and relaxes your body.

You may receive insights during the peak eclipse energy. Don’t try to force it – just be open to ah ha’s and new ideas that surface.

Now is NOT the time to make big life decisions. Save those for another week.

New Moon in Leo

New moon time is now. The moon begins her journey to wholeness this month in fiery Leo, the regal sign of self-love. La Luna is also illuminating Venus at the gate of love and compassion.

A new moon is not a time of action. Make this a time of dark, quiet reflection. Sit with yourself and ponder what you want to begin creating in the month ahead. Reflect, release and clarify who you are and what you want.

“A new moon teaches gradualness
and deliberation
and how one gives birth
to oneself slowly.
Patience with small details
makes perfect a large work,
like the universe…”

~Rumi

New Moon, New Vision

New moon in airy, visionary Aquarius. Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter are hanging out there as well. It’s quite an Aquarian gathering.

The energies of a new moon make it an ideal time to think about the future and set intentions. And this Aquarian new moon is especially ripe for visioning and planning. The expansive, visionary energies are HUGE right now!

Last year was a wild “shake up” period. Most of us had long held habits and assumptions stripped away in the chaos and turbulence. This is the perfect time to stop and regroup.

What path do you find yourself on now? Is this still the right path for you? What do you want to add and subtract from your present life? Where do you want to tweak and adjust your life as you move deeper into 2021?

Take the long view and consider all your options – even the wild ones!

🌙

P.S. Sacred feminine queen Venus is tapping into Aquarian energies as she prepares to drop out of sight and begin her journey into the underworld. She will be doing some navel gazing and clearing while she’s behind the Sun for the next few months. This is a wonderful time to connect with her deep feminine wisdom.

Moon Woman

a woman can’t survive
by her own breath
alone
she must know
the voices of mountains
she must recognize
the foreverness of blue sky
she must flow
with the elusive
bodies
of night winds
who will take her
into herself

look at me
i am not a separate woman
i am a continuance
of blue sky
i am the throat
of the mountains
a night wind
who burns
with every breath
she takes

New Moon in Leo

New moon in fiery Leo, the king of all he surveys.

As summer reaches its zenith, you may feel the need to DO something big and dramatic to shift things. But with Venus and Mars in the underworld and a host of retrograde planets, now is simply not the ideal time for big, consequential actions.

Do whatever it takes to maintain your balance. Eliminate some of the excessive stimulation bombarding you. Chill out. Slow your roll. Think everything through.

Get yin to counteract the yang of this time.

Inanna Queen of Heaven

Inanna - Queen of Heaven

Heaven is hers!
Earth is hers!
She is a warrior.
She is a falcon.
She is a great white cow.
She fought the dragon and slew it.
She seduced the scorpion and tamed it.
The golden lion slept at her side.
She is the singer.
She is desire.
She is the mountain of silver, gold and lapis.
On her hips tall trees grow and grasses.
From Her waters spout and savory grains.
Her lap is holy.
Her lips are honey.
Her hand is law.
Her breasts pour heavenly rain.
She is the healer.
She is life-giver.
She is the terror, the anger, the hunger.
Fierce winds blow from her heart.
Hers is the thunder, the lightning, the glory.
She is the morning.
She is the evening.
She is the star.
She wears the gown of mystery.
Heaven is hers!
Earth is hers!
Who can argue?

Inanna’s Chant by Janine Canan

Inanna is an ancient Sumerian Goddess of fertility, love and beauty. The people of Mesopotamia worshipped Inanna as far back as 4000 BCE (perhaps even earlier) as the undisputed Queen of Heaven.  No other Goddess in any culture has come close to matching Inanna’s stature and power.  The Akkadians also knew her, calling her Ishtar. And many anthropologists assert that Inanna later morphed into the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, and then the Roman Venus.

The story of Inanna’s journey into the Underworld has been told and re-told since ancient times. Inanna enters the darkness of the Underworld and must strip away her adornments and clothing piece by piece. Inanna is tested and must let go of who she once was. She is laid bare. Eventually Inanna embraces her naked and vulnerable true Self. And ultimately, she emerges from the dark and rises again as the Queen of Heaven.

Inanna’s myth is an ancient story. Yet it still holds deep wisdom about the transformation many of us go through. Hers is the story of a woman embracing her true self and recovering her Soul.

Every 584 days, the planet Venus traces Inanna’s mythic journey in the skies over our Earth. Venus appears in our sky as a bright morning “star.” Over many weeks, Venus descends toward Earth and then disappears from view. Weeks later, Venus emerges from the dark Underworld. She has been transformed and is now a mature evening “star.”

Venus, Inanna, Aphrodite, Ishtar… there are many names for this sacred Goddess, the Queen of Heaven. Her roots are ancient and deep. And her wild wisdom flows through the Souls of all women. By any name she is one original #BadassWoman!
