Full Moon in Airy Libra

In honor of the first full moon of spring…

Beehive

Within this black hive to-night
There swarm a million bees;
Bees passing in and out the moon,
Bees escaping out the moon,
Bees returning through the moon,
Silver bees intently buzzing,
Silver honey dripping from the swarm of bees
Earth is a waxen cell of the world comb,
And I, a drone,
Lying on my back,
Lipping honey,
Getting drunk with silver honey,
Wish that I might fly out past the moon
And curl forever in some far-off farmyard flower.

Playful Sagittarius New Moon

New moon in Sagittarius, the fiery adventurer.

There is a social, communal feel to this moon time. It’s not the usual ‘contemplate your navel’ new moon.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself suddenly wanting to explore a new place or a new topic. Perhaps you can simply stop working and play awhile?

And don’t let Thanksgiving feast prep get in the way of fun. Add a bit of singing, dancing and goofing off to your cooking and cleaning regimen.

Remember, all work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy.

Don’t be Jack.

Libra New Moon – Creating Balance

New moon in airy Libra, the queen of justice and fair, balanced, egalitarian relationships.

A Libra new moon is the perfect time to sit quietly and contemplate if there are places in your life that are out of balance.

Look at your life like a loving gardener; even the most perfect, beautiful gardens require tending to stay balanced and beautiful.

What needs to be tended to in your life? What needs love and feeding? What needs to be cut back? What needs to be removed?

What is missing from your garden? What do you want (or need) to add to make your heart sing? How can you create a little space for the things you truly love and desire?

Earthy Full Moon

Snow Mandala

Full moon in earthy Virgo, keeper of Earth’s cycles, rhythms and mysteries. Virgo is lover of green trees furry creatures, running streams, buzzing bees, soil and stone.

Now is the perfect time to embrace your inner Earth priestess or priest. Earthy rituals are particularly powerful when the moon is full in Virgo.

Offer love and honor to Mama Earth; create a mandala out of objects from Nature, sing a song of gratitude to Earth and Sky, offer up a joyful poem to your favorite tree, sit with the land and give it your loving attention, light a candle and express your appreciation for the air, food, water and shelter our Earth provides, sit in the light of the full moon tonight and express your wonder about the mystery of it all…

There are a thousand different ways to love and honor our sacred Earth. Choose one and do it now. Do it for the land where you live.

The Earth does not belong to us:
we belong to the Earth.”

Wild Breath of the Soul

”It is that holy poetry and singing we are after. We want powerful words and songs that can be heard underwater and over land. It is the wild singing we are after, our chance to use the wild language we are learning by heart under the sea. When a woman speaks her truth, fires up her intention and feeling, staying tight with the instinctive nature, she is singing, she is living in the wild breath-stream of the soul. To live this way is a cycle in itself, one meant to go on, go on, go on.”

Gratitude for Time and Light

The Word

Down near the bottom
of the crossed-out list
of things you have to do today,

between “green thread”
and “broccoli,” you find
that you have penciled “sunlight.”

Resting on the page, the word
is beautiful. It touches you
as if you had a friend

and sunlight were a present
he had sent from someplace distant
as this morning—to cheer you up,

and to remind you that,
among your duties, pleasure
is a thing

that also needs accomplishing.
Do you remember?
that time and light are kinds

of love, and love
is no less practical
than a coffee grinder

or a safe spare tire?
Tomorrow you may be utterly
without a clue,

but today you get a telegram
from the heart in exile,
proclaiming that the kingdom

still exists,
the king and queen alive,
still speaking to their children,

—to any one among them
who can find the time
to sit out in the sun and listen.
